Collecting, is a permanent ever expanding collection that takes the longstanding practice of artist personal swaps and makes them public as a way of looking at value, relationships and reciprocation.

The online and physical exhibition engages with ideas of visible validation, the capitalist demand to digitally ‘like’ & ‘endorse’, to find ways of making our relationships visible and our networks traceable

Usually what has been swapped would not be seen together in the same space, so this provides a space for anecdotal story telling. In pairing the artworks and showcasing them online a space is created for the viewer to consider the relationship between the artists. It is also vital for the discussion/comparisons about value, relationships and fairness that accompanies reciprocation.
