The Withdrawing Room at 14 Wear Bay Road, Folkestone is happily coming out of hibernation on the 21st & 22nd September 2024, from 12:00 to 17:00 to join in with the brilliant inaugural OpenArtFolke.

It will take a hybrid form of studio sale and exhibition to showcase works by resident artists Atli Myers and Liv Pennington, along with guest artists Elsa Busuttil, Sally Penfold, Sue Venables, and Wendy Venables – Gordon.

Expect an array of original paintings, limited editions, drawings, embroidery, and expanded photography. Pop in, meet the artists, browse the tabletop sale, have a chat, and enjoy a drink—there will be artworks for sale, while other pieces are there purely to enjoy or capture your attention.

Bodies of… explores the multifaceted concept of the body, extending beyond human form. A body can be physical—flesh, bone, and structure—but also social, political, or environmental. It might be a body of knowledge, a body of water, or a collective of people unified by identity or experience.
